Enrollments in the online business writing courses are the strongest indicator of which online writing courses are evaluated well by graduates. These are the 10 highest ranked online writing courses from the 45 Business Writing Center courses.

The highest ranking course is the Business Writing Skills course. It teaches the best practices business people must know to be able to write clear, effective, professional business writing, especially email, memos, letters, and reports. Graduates report that they receive high praise for their business writing, and other employees begin to copy their style. This business writing course contains lessons in professional writing, 12 practice activities, and four business writing examinations. The instructor evaluates the activities and examinations, comments on skills learned and skills that still need polish, coaches the student through learning the skills, and certifies competence. The second most popular business writing course is the Basic Grammar and Writing Skills for Business course because it contains training in both usage (grammar, punctuation, spelling, and sentence structure) and business writing (e-mail, memos, letters, reports, and other documents). The focus is on providing the business writer who has some usage problems with the instruction to make his or her writing clear, effective, and correct. Business people with many basic writing skills problems should take BWC110 Basic Grammar Course Tutorial. The business writing portion of the course uses the lessons from the Business Writing Skills course without the 12 practice activities. The time students would have spent on the practice activities is devoted to the grammar training.
